The lead is sixteen shots, a number the field has politely agreed to frame as scenery.
The Parkland course was soft, welcoming, and entirely unsympathetic to the chasing pack. The bandit posted an eleven-under 25, which in any normal tournament would be a thunderclap. Here it merely nudged the overall lead to one hundred and sixty under par — a figure so vast it should probably come with its own weather system.
Miko took the daily honours with a dazzling fourteen-under 22, winning the sprint while the marathon idled serenely in the distance. With one round remaining in the Major, the race for second is being fought with the hushed intensity of someone trying to win a staring contest against a mountain.
