The Open · Day 4 of 9
Four-Way Harmony in the Haunted Half-Light
Spooky delivers a rare and lovely deadlock, and the top of the daily board is a quartet who all found twenty-five.
Four-Way Harmony in the Haunted Half-Light
Spooky served up a haunted twilight and a course that asked questions, and four players arrived at exactly the same glorious answer. Brendo, Golfer #20254830, Barnyard, and tournament leader Rambidextrous all signed for twenty-five shots — eleven under par, and not a sliver of daylight between them.
The Bugle loves a logjam, and this one was built with real affection. Four different routes to the same sparkling number, four names stacked at the top of the daily page like old friends sharing a bench. The Open still has five rounds to run, but days like this are the reason we all turn up.
Down the Field
- ▲Virtual tiger pounced up two places into seventh overall, and did it with a ten-under round that was the best of anyone outside the leading pack — a proper move on a tricky day.
- ●Golfer #20254830 only has three counting rounds so far and still carved out an eleven-under gem — that is someone making every shot count, and the Bugle is taking notes.
- ☀Golfer #13594554 anchored the day with a five-over round and the quiet dignity of someone who turned up, teed off, and saw the whole thing through. The Bugle salutes you, warmly and without reservation.
